Last
Saturday, the school cafeteria was turned into a winter wonderland. Greens and reds were predominant c=
olors
while white snowflakes hung from the ceiling for the Holiday Breakfast and Craft Fair. A bank of poinsettias and a decora=
ted
tree was the backdrop for good old Mr. Claus, who sat in his BIG red suite =
and
talked through his flowing white beard to the many admirers who sat on his =
knee
and had their picture taken for posterity. (I do believe there is a shot of me=
out
there somewhere in that exact pose!) While an exact number is not available=
at
this writing, there were close to 100 people who made it through the breakf=
ast
line as Dr. G., Dr. Z., and Mrs. Turgeon served the early bird fair-goers. =
The 25
crafters enjoyed sharing their goods with the attendees and explaining the
methods of creating some their handiwork.
Today
was the first of the several Spiri=
t Days
that have been planned for the school year. The theme for today was Twin Day. =
As no one invited either Dr. Z. or =
Dr. G.
to “twin” with them, they decided to invite anyone who wanted t=
o,
to join them. Dr. G.’s=
twins wore ties (oh, big surprise) with tee shirts or regular shirts. Dr. Z.’s=
“twins” donned Rex Sox shirts or hat=
s (oh
gee, bigger surprise). They h=
ad a
great time being called little Dr. G.s and Dr. =
Z.s!
There
is just one more week left before the Stuff
the Cruiser event. Decemb=
er 17th
is the day when children are invited to bring in a new, unwrapped toy for a
child of their own age. This
program has been sponsored by the Connecticut State Police for a number of
years. It has become so popul=
